What is the Difference Between a Carbon Monoxide Detector and Carbon Monoxide Monitor?

How do you fight something you can't see, hear, smell or taste? You can invest in a carbon monoxide detector, but is that enough? A carbon monoxide detector alerts you when dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are present in the air. A carbon monoxide "monitor" is recommended for people with health sensitivities. A monitor continuously displays the current concentration of CO, providing a numerical reading. Another term for a carbon monoxide detector is a "CO" monitor -- not to be confused with a "CO2" monitor, which detects carbon dioxide, a natural and non-flammable gas found naturally in the earth's atmosphere. Larger volumes of carbon dioxide can affect your health. Excess CO2 can cause you to have headaches, fatigue, nausea, and other system discomforts.
